Emperor Hadrian built a wall to keep those pesky Barbarians out and now
scouts report a force massing to assault the wall.
Come now and defend the Empire from the scourge of Caladonia!
Defenses are mustering at the Legion Fortress Gaines on Dauphin Island in Alabama
on Thursday evening October 25th and expect two days of scouting, skirmishing, and revelry.
Both Heavy and Light forces are needed, along with your support persons.
Come now merchants and craftsmen! Supplies and provisions of all kinds will be needed (war is good for profits, no?).

This site is open to the public during the day and ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL consumption on site during
that time. After 5pm the site is closed to the public and discretely wet (no original containers). You must police your
containers before the site opens each morning (no alcohol containers visible anywhere, including in the trash).

Traveler's Fare

Traveler's Fare will be provided Friday night starting at 9:00 p.m. for those coming in late.

Breakfasts

Friday Morning: Gourmet Oatmeal, fruit juice/milk/coffee/hot tea
Saturday Morning: Apple and/or Bacon Pancakes, fruit & honey syrup or regular syrup, fruit juice/milk/coffee/hot tea

Fund Raiser Meals
Each meal is $5.00 and starting times are posted. Service lasts 2 hours or until the food runs out!

Dinner Friday 6pm: spaghetti with meat sauce, yeast rolls, side salad, tea, bottled water

Lunch Saturday 12pm: a pulled pork barbeque sandwich, a bag of chips, and choice of sweet or unsweetened tea and a sweet
Dinner Saturday after court: Legion Gruel (hoagie roll with ground hamburger, creamed mushrooms, and mozzarella), chips, and sweet tea

Directions: Take best route to I-10 exit 17A-B. Take exit ramp to Rangeline Road/AL-193 South (toward Dauphin Island).
Go 8.3 miles, at "T" turn left on AL-193. Go 0.8 miles, turn right onto AL-193 S.
Continue until it ends at Bienville Blvd (on the island) and turn left on Bienville Blvd.
Drive 2.2 miles, Fort Gaines will be on the right.
Site opens to the SCA October 25th at 5pm and closes October 28th at 11am.
