"Passage of Honor"




The passo honroso (Passage of Honor) was held at the Orbigo Bridge in Castile by Suero de Quiñones in 1433. On this road used by pilgrims heading to a shrine at Santiago de Compostela, Suero and 10 other knights challenged each knight who wished to cross the bridge to a joust, until they broke 300 lances. They fought for over a month, but had to declare the passo completed when after a month and 166 battles, they were too injured to continue. He remained undefeated against sixty-eight knights in over seven hundred battles.

There will be our signature Tavern Brawl for the rapier fighters, as well as live weapons. Come join the fun as we host a Heraldic Symposium. Details and schedule on the following pages. Breakfast both mornings, a wonderful fundraiser lunch brought to you by Houses DragonOr and Brighthelmston. And at the end of the day there will be a period Spanish feast for the lucky 80.

Directions:
From the North: Take I-65 south to exit 114, Hwy 106, then turn left and go 6.6 miles, over the railroad tracks and through the 4-way stop until you come to US-31. Turn right (south) onto US-31, go 7.3 miles then turn right, staying on US-31 ( towards Evergreen). Go 2.9 miles (you will cross into Conecuh County). The camp is on the right near mile marker 108.
From the South: Take I-65 north to exit 93 (US 84). Turn Right, 0.8 miles. Turn left onto US-31 North (US 84 merges with US-31 North). Go through Evergreen staying on US-31 for 13.9 miles (US 84 and US 31 split here). Turn left (north) onto US-31N. Go 5.9 miles, the camp is on the left.
