The passo honroso (Passage of Honor) was held at the Orbigo Bridge in Castile by Suero de Quiñones in 1433. On this road used by pilgrims heading to a shrine at Santiago de Compostela,
Suero and 10 other knights challenged each knight who wished to cross the bridge to a joust, until they broke 300 lances. They fought for over a month, but had to declare the passo completed when
after a month and 166 battles, they were too injured to continue. He remained undefeated against sixty-eight knights in over seven hundred battles.
